Ohio Buckeyes had to fend off over twenty other offers for Jayden Ballard to secure his services, testament to the fantastic future many believe he will have. The four star rated talent currently ranks as the 125th best prospect in the country, as well as the fifth best player currently in the state of Ohio. Unsurprisingly Ballard received offers from Notre Dame, Michigan State, Washington State, Maryland, Boston College and Pittsburgh. However it was Ohio Buckeyes that drew in the rare physical talent. It was his visit to Ohio on 21st June that was enough to convince him of its draw and he committed there are then, publicly declaring his commitment to the Buckeyes. Despite several alternative offers, Ohio always stood a great chance with Jayden Ballard due to a history of playing in the state. The connection has always been there and that in itself undoubtedly boosted the teams chances of his capture.
