Update on Ohio State Four Star Running Back Evan Pryor

Following the LSU Tigers’ triumphant victory over the Clemson
Tigers in the National Championship Game, it feels as though crickets
are singing on the NCAA recruitment scene. That is not the case for
the Ohio State Buckeye’s however, who fully intend on making a big
splash signing elite prospects for the 2021 class. What is the current
status report on four-star running back Evan Pryor?

Evan Pryor Scholarship Offers

Speedy one-cut running back Evan Pryor from Cornellius, NC and currently a sophomore at William Amos Hough high school, is a hot commodity among every division-1 powerhouse school you could imagine. He has already been offered scholarships to more than 30 schools, one of them just so happens to be Ohio State. Among his other suitors that have made official scholarship offers include but are not limited to; Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Duke, Florida, Florida State, Michigan, Mississippi State, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee, UGA, UNC, University of Miami, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, and Virginia.

Evan Pryor Crystal Ball Prediction

According to 247sports.com, they have projected the Ohio State Buckeye’s to secure Evan Pryor ‘s commitment in 2021, to the tune of OSU with a 50% probability compared to a 50% probability forecast for the rest of the entire field at signing day. The Justin Fields led title game hopefuls, unfortunately, fell to the Clemson Tigers before reaching their ultimate goal. The gut-wrenching loss appears to have motivated Ohio State to do whatever it takes to stay in the title conversation for at least the next couple of seasons.

Ohio State Running Backs 2021

With star running back J.K. Dobbins declaring for the 2020 NFL Draft recently, the Buckeye’s are actually behind the proverbial eight ball in terms of who toats the rock next season. As Dobbins is projected by most reputable scouts as a potential superstar half-back when playing on Sunday’s, he isn’t expected to be taken later than early in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. OSU will likely be leaning quite heavily on three-star recruit sophomore back Xavier Johnson to be their every-down back next
season.

Evan Pryor Letterman Row Interview

Waiting in the wings is explosive and incredibly sought after Evan Pryor , who sat down with Jeremy Birmingham of the Lettermen-Row to discuss the wild recruitment process he’s experienced thus far:

“After watching J.K. Dobbins these past few seasons, how do you see yourself fitting into the Buckeye’s offense? What do you feel like you would provide to Ohio State?” Birmingham asked.

“I can visualize myself fitting into the passing game, and how they utilize their backs. You know, I bring the versatility of someone you can split out wide or pick up blitzes. It’s something I can see myself doing.” Evan Pryor exclaimed.

“So, with all of these different teams aggressively recruiting you, I know it can be difficult. But when it’s nearing the time to make a decision, what is the dream scenario to make that announcement?”

“The dream scenario would be to choose my school and team at the end of the Mcdonald’s All-American game.” Evan Pryor deadpanned.

Evan Pryor Visits

While OSU has been extremely active in obtaining elite prospects from the southeast region of late, they do have a lot of competition in terms of Evan Pryor . It was recently reported that Alabama head coach Nick Saban visited with his high school running back coach. In addition to that, he also has an unofficial visit scheduled with the University of Georgia on February 2nd. So to keep hopes alive for the No. 3 running back of the 2021 class being a Buckeye, fingers crossed.
