Robert Griffin III was at his stellar best in the second week of preseason matches. Now, let’s take a peak into what this means for the fantasy league.
The quarterback for Cleveland Browns gave a plausible performance despite them losing 24-13 to the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday evening. What better way to extend his recent form than to score two touchdowns, and complete 6 out of 8 passes from 96 yards out. Three scrambles rushed for 36 yards without a single turnover was a considerable improvement from the first preseason week. At the beginning of the first quarter he proved why he is one of the highlights of the forthcoming season by throwing a flighted deep ball to get Terrelle Pryor for a 50-yard touchdown. Almost soon after he topped that off with an elegantly executed touchdown throw for Gary Barnidge from 29-yards.
Hue Jackson –the Brown’s coach- has shown immense dedication towards RGIII, and it paid off two-fold as the team morale was boosted. On the flipside, seeing flashbacks of the prominent rookie RGII once was reminded the team of how his new-found form could propel their prospects for the upcoming season. But RGII Achilles Heel is of course, inconsistency. So expect him to be quarterback option 2 at present.
