Bennett Christian : All You Need To Know

Bennett Christian

Allatoona High School’s Bennett Christian has mentioned his interest in Ohio State football and recently committed to the Buckeyes. Among the Buckeyes, other schools that he has expressed interest in are Penn State and Tennessee. Penn State is, however, out of the list after they recently accepted a commitment from a Holden State four-star tight end. In a recent statement, Bennett mentions Ohio State as a winning program. It is one of those schools that will boost his career and offer him an opportunity to win a national championship.

It is not only for the winning record that he has shown interest in Ohio State but also for the incredible coaching staff. He mentions notably Coach Kevin Wilson.

Together with his dad, Bill Christian, a former Tennessee player, they visited the campus to look at everything. In a virtual meeting with the coaches, he placed everything into perspective and mapped it all. Ohio State becomes the third school for him to visit, including Tennessee and Georgia Tech.

Christian’s recruitment journey hasn’t ended; he is yet to make a decision and announce it on Instagram Live on September 1st.

Roger Goodell is lying again.

Goodell

First of all, the Commissioner of the NFL Roger Goodell doesn’t have the guts to answer questions in a real press conference. He had to hide behind the noise of the wind and others talking around him to answer questions about the Ray Rice suspension. What was he trying to hide? The answer is that the NFL does not care about women as fans or give a rats hind end for their safety.

Here is what he said and my comments on those responses.

Our policy is clear.

The NFL policy on abuse of women is anything but clear. In 2010 Ben Roethlisberger was accused of sexual battery in Georgia. Although it was the second accusation of sexual abuse against him no charges were filed in either case. Goodell suspended Roethlisberger for 6 games. Under appeal it was ultimately reduced to 4 games. Until now that was the standard. Now that standard has been reduced to a gentle tap on the back of the hand.

In this case not only did Rice admit guilt (it is hard to deny when there is video evidence of the crime) but he was sentenced. Admittedly the penalty of a diversionary program is not Read more at FryingPanSports

Gutless NFL suspends Rice for just 2 games.

nfl

The NFL again showed it is gutless when it comes to violence against women. Despite video evidence that it has to have from the cassino of Ray Rice knocking his girl friend out cold, the league chose to suspend Rice for just 2 games. The video that was released to the public showed him dragging her unconscious body by the hair out of the building.

This is an outrage. The minimum first violation for PEDs is 4 games. How can violence against a female be just 2 games? Frankly, this violation is far worse than than PEDs.

If the NFL is honestly trying to get more female fans, it has to take this kind of physical assault much more seriously. But like the league’s stance on player safety, the words are mostly hollow.

Josh Gordon is too stupid to be a Brown.

GordonThis is NOT a mug shot!

Over the holiday weekend, Josh Gordon was ticketed for speeding. Given his current issues with the league, that is not smart. But when the policeman was at the vehicle, he smelled pot. That is just plain stupid.

Gordon’s NFL career is at risk. It is currently spinning around like a leaf caught by the wind suspended by a single strand of a spider’s web. It is clear that he cares more about his friends and smoking weed than he does about his career or his team. That is unacceptable. He clearly does not get what it takes to be a professional athlete. There are rules and to be in the league you have to abide by them. That is true even if the NFL is duplicitous in its weed policy. It hold NFL players to a measure 10 times more strict than the Olympics at the same time it is testing to see if weed can help players recover from concussion syndrome.

He could well be suspended not for a year but for life. He will go back to Houston and likely run again with the same guys that got him into trouble in … Read more at FryingPanSports

The NFL Giveth and the NFL Taketh Away.

For Browns fans there is an advantage to being a pessimist. You are either right or pleasantly surprised.

The joy by most of the Browns fans over the movements of GM Ray Farmer in the 2014 NFL draft has been over shadowed by the shock of star WR Josh Gordon’s probable suspension. It is hard for those of us that do not have an addiction to drugs to understand how a guy that has so much God given talent can throw those gifts away for a temporary high.

The best case scenario for the Browns is that somehow the suspension of 12 calender months is reduced. There is little chance in my opinion that Gordon will be available all season. The most the Browns can hope for is that Gordon will be available for the last 8 games of the season. That is probably optimistic.

The re-injury of WR Nate Burleson arm is an issue as well. While it should be healed by the beginning of the season, the fact that … Read more at FryingPanSports
