Top 5 Locations for Extreme Sports

Forget the beach and ditch the book, we all know that a holiday with a light dabble in some extreme sports is going to send you home with the best snaps…even if that means bone.

Here are 5 of the best locations in the world to tap your pulse and reinvigorate your adrenaline levels with some cool extreme sports.

  1. Nicaragua, Volcano Boarding

Anyone can snowboard the peaks of Chamonix, but what about boarding down an active volcano? Nicaragua is well known for its long civil war but as calm has been restored, this volcano country has seen extreme sports enthusiasts bound in, board in arm, to take on one of the country’s best challenges.

You won’t be short of volcanoes to choose from but Cerro Negro, Black Mountain is up there – literally, it is 675m above sea. It’s still active, it’s covered in black volcanic matter from its last eruption and it’s can give you speeds up to 40mph, just don’t pick up any gravel rash on the way.

  1. China, Bungee off Macau Tower

Bungee jumping has been around forever, or at least it feels that way. However, the man behind the bungee, A.J. Hackett has spent his life … Read more at FryingPanSports

Using a Trampoline Enclosure

When you have a trampoline, especially a big one, you have to fear for the safety of the little kids in your family who use it. This is where the safety trampoline enclosure comes in. You surely have seen those, the ones with the net and poles that are installed on the trampoline so that the person who is inside and using it doesn’t fall outside of the trampoline. The enclosure is often used to be sure that the people who use the trampoline do not fall off it.

The enclosure around the trampoline can be bought separately from the trampoline or it could be with the trampoline you buy as a set. It is a great tool to use for the safety of those who play trampoline games. It can minimize accidents that people can have on the trampoline. An open trampoline, one without the enclosure, can be very dangerous and many accidents can result from playing in it.

It’s not that expensive to get a trampoline enclosure. For less than 500 US dollars, you can already get one for your trampoline. It’ll be for the safety of your kids and other family members so that is basically money … Read more at FryingPanSports

First round QBs in the NFL Draft may disappear.

nflDraft

Not that long ago most NFL teams gave a rookie QB 2 or 3 years to mature and learn the game. However, that has changed in recent years and it may be changing again.

First round QBs are expected to start quickly and some of them are able to do that. The recent success of Roethlisberger (PT), Sanchez (NJ), and Ryan (AT) make us forget the list of those that have crashed and burned in recent years.

We start with 2007 because it is too soon to evaluate players being a bust from the 08 or 09 drafts.

2007-1st pick JaMarcus Russell Oakland Russell has thrown a total of 18 TDs and 23 picks since joining the league. He has a career passer rating of 65.2. In the 2010 draft the team traded for Campbell to replace him.

2007-22nd pick Brady Quinn Cleveland He didn’t get thrown into the game immediately but that still didn’t help him. In 3 years he had a rating of 66.8. He was traded to Denver this year for a bucket of water. They were so impressed with Quinn that they used a 1st round pick on QB Tim Tebow.

2006-3rd pick Vince Young Tennessee … Read more at FryingPanSports

Rap up of the Preseason 1 NFL games

nfl

This will become a regular Monday column. I will comment on some of the key games of the week. Let me know what you think of it.

Cleveland at Green Bay—Ugly is as ugly does.

Cleveland: The Browns looked bad. The Browns need a pass rush and the ex-Jets don’t have the ability to generate it. Look for DE Williams to get traded. He is not a fit in the 3-4. By the way, Mangenus said that QB Ratliff was a guy he really liked in the trade down from the 4th pick in the draft. Coach, just what was it you saw?

Green Bay: Packer fans shouldn’t get too giddy about the win because they were playing only part of the Browns D without NT Rogers. The Pack O looks very sharp. Bret Who?

Dallas at Oakland—QB Russell looks better

Oakland: JaMarcus Russell looks a lot better. He still is not starter quality but seems to have been working on his mechanics. The running game looks sharp and deep. On D the pass D is fine but they will have to find a way to stop the run.

Dallas: The Dallas O looks confused and shaky. The 1… Read more at FryingPanSports
