Yet another open letter to Browns’ owner Jimmy Haslam:

The coaching search under Mike Holmgren was limited to the best coach represented by agent Bob Lamonte. That is how the Browns ended up with moron Pat Shurmur as head coach. All he did was to drive the organization further into the depths of a culture of loosing. I know this will shock you but Lamonte was Holmgren’s agent.

Now Holmgren is gone. He has been replaced by Joe Banner as the head guy. The names change but the process seems to be the same. Now, because Banner’s agent is Jim Sexton, the Browns hire will the best coach represented by Sexton. This is insanity which is defined as doing the same thing over and over but expecting a different result.

News:

Broncos HC John Fox is back with the team.  It was great to see him back and the staff at FPS wishes him the best of health.

RB Trent Richardson was benched by Colts but they say they still believe in him.  KFFL.com reports that Richardson was “awesome” and “a pro” about being demoted from the starting lineup.  All that means is the GM and staff is covering its hind end about giving up a #1 pick for him.

Cleveland Browns QB Brandon Weeden (concussion) completed 24 of his 40 passes with 3 TDs and 3 turnovers but no one was quite sure which hit caused the condition.  It was not a coincidence that NFL rules prohibit a concussed player from doing a press conference.… Read more at FryingPanSports

News:

The best news of the week was that Texans coach Gary Kubiak was back with the team.  He is a good guy and we hope he continues to have good health.

Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe was is facing possible drug charges.  According to league rules he is exempt from suspension until the legal case is adjudicated.

Steelers WR Emmanuel Sanders was lost for the game and perhaps longer with a foot injury.

The end of the Patriots Panther game was another example of bad and gutless officiating in the NFL.  After seeing TE Rob Gronkowski tackled … Read more at FryingPanSports

News:

By far the biggest news of the weekend was the Monday night injury to QB Aaron Rodgers.  The latest report indicates that he has a break in his collar bone.  Without Rodgers the Pack has little chance to make the playoffs.

Our thoughts go out to two NFL head coaches with health issues.  FPS staff wishes both John Fox and Gary Kubiak a fast complete recovery.  The job of an NFL coach is a 20 hour a day 52 week a year sentence.  Those that take the job understand the physical demands that come with it.  However, they do it for the love of the game.

Season ending injuries are way up this season.  If the trend continues this season will set an all … Read more at FryingPanSports

Thanks to CBS for not showing the first TD by the Packers.  Because they are in New York they assume we give a rat’s behind about either the Jets or the Patriots.

Bess drops the slant.  Not helping the O.

Penalty on Thomas for a false start.

The Browns unaccustomed to penalties fail to get the play in on time and have to call a TO.

The best thing that Weeden does is throw the ball to the ground.

Weeden hit as Hawk runs over Greco and Ogbonnaya to hit the QB.

Browns saved by the roughing the kicker.

Weeden goes back on the field for no particular reason.

Nice throw to Little from Weeden on the run.

McGahee again hit in the backfield but muscles … Read more at FryingPanSports

Browns/Bengals live game notes week 4

Browns2

Good run by Ogbonnaya

Browns O line has not improved since last week on pass protection.

Three and out for the Browns.

=

Taylor throws the C away and stuffs the run

Bengals are going to be throwing at Skrine all day

Gresham was WIDE open for the 1st. The zone is leaky.

2 Runs get another first

Browns are still using a lot of zone.  That allows Green to be free of Haden

Kruger gets the arm of QB Dalton and the drive is over.

Brown need a TO on 3rd and 1 because they were not organized.  This has happened way too often.  The problem was again personnel getting into the game.

Good 11 yard run by Ogbonnaya.  Grecco got to the second level on the run.

Bubble screen to Bess well executed with a nice block by Little

Hoyer looks off the safety with a fake bubble screen right then throws to Benjamin on the left.  Great YAC and Benjamin runs to the Bengal 22 for 61 yards.  Thomas and Grecco get good blocks on the play.

The Browns confuse the Bengals with a wild cat formation and the visitors call TO… Read more at FryingPanSports
