The trade for Love is a test for GM Griffin.

Make no mistake about it. LeBron James is testing his new GM David Griffin to get Kevin Love. If Griffin fails the test LeBron “could” consider opting out after his first or second year. That does not mean he will leave Cleveland, but it does mean that this test will determine if Griffin is still the GM in 2015-16 season.

There is no question that LeBron coming back to the Cavs is the best news Cleveland sports fans have had since the Browns drafted Jim Brown. In my opinion Love will not sign a long term deal with any team except the Cavs. Like Cavs fans, Love is sick to death of losing and wants to win. The best chance to do that is in Cleveland with LeBron and Kyrie Irving.

If teams see Love as a rental, his trade value will decrease significantly. For example Golden State is not likely to give up SG Klay Thompson to get Love for a year. But the question is will the Cavs be willing to wait to make a deal for Love?

News:

Saints TE Jimmy Graham got his money. He is a first round pick in any fantasy draft.

Browns WR Josh Gordon did not help his cause with a 2nd legal issue since he appealed his indefinite suspension. Both issues show he has major issues. After failing a test for weed, he was caught speeding with a friend smoking pot. Then he was arrested for DUI. At this point I doubt he can stay clean for a year to qualify for reinstatement. He may never play again.

49er RT Alex Boone says he won’t attend training camp unless he gets a new deal. The way he played in 2013 he should be more than happy with his salary. He missed way too many blocks to get a raise.

Flying J/Pilot President Jimmy Haslam signed an agreement with the fed. It will cost the company 92 million dollars. All Browns fans should buy as much gas as possible because Haslam needs the money.

Johnny Manziel should watch LeBron James to see how to be a pro.

Manziel Drft

Tonight we will discuss the return of LeBron James and all the ramifications of that move with David Kay of walterfootball.com and the latest Browns news 6PM EDT on News, Notes & Rumors on or https://fryingpansports.com/radio-show/.

One of the most promising things that has happened recently in Cleveland sports is the return of LeBron James to the Cavs. Despite being the best basketball player in the world, we never see LeBron making a fool of himself in his off time. Even at 18, he handled himself in a professional manner. However that is not the case for Johnny Manziel.

Manziel looks up to LeBron and should follow his example in both selecting friends and enjoying his down time. They are clearly friends. We can hope that some of LeBron’s professionalism rubs off on Manziel. Somehow I doubt that will happen.

That is what I think. Tell us what you think by commenting here or tweeting me @NNRonDSN.

LeBron James has put serious pressure on the Timberwolves.

Monday we will discuss the return of LeBron James and all the ramifications of that move with David Kay of walterfootball.com 6PM EDT on News, Notes & Rumors on or https://fryingpansports.com/radio-show/.

First let me say I am delighted that LeBron James, the best basketball player on earth, is coming back to the Cavs in the prime of his career. Now there is pressure on Pat Riley and the Heat. But LeBron also put serious pressure on the Timberwolves.

Decision 2 has eliminated nearly all the possible trade options for the Timberkitties’ only asset—Kevin Love. It has also prevented any chance of a sign and trade with anyone other than the Cavs. Love wants to win a title and he has 0 chance to get that in Minnesota. He will only go to Cleveland. He will not sign an extension with any other team even if he is traded.

Without a chance of an extension, Love’s value in a trade is badly reduced. No team will give up something like Andrew Wiggins for a rental player. So expect the Cavs to try to make a deal now and if it does not succeed at the trade deadline as well. … Read more at FryingPanSports

How can the Cavs get LeBron to come back?

LeBron

Yesterday we asked “Can the Cavs get LeBron James to come home?” Prior to answering, I had to answer a few questions. Check out the article below.

The question today is what are the alternatives to trading for Kevin Love in blind faith that he will stay and LeBron James will come?

Sign Chris Bosh (Mia).

LeBron is currently discussing a reunion with Bosh and Dwayne Wade in Miami. Wade is a has been. He disappeared in the finals against the Spurs. The Cavs have Kyrie Irving who is younger, more athletic and effective than Wade. Irving also distributes the ball which is something that did not happen in Miami. Bosh would start allowing PF Tristan Thompson to provide scoring and rebounding off the bench. The combination of Bosh and Irving is much better than Bosh and Wade. It might be enough to get LeBron’s interest.

Sign C Marcin Gortat (Wash)

There are not many better centers than Gortat. He fills a hole and allows Thompson to stay at PF. The addition would help LeBron with rebounding and scoring. Gortat is a 13 point 10 rebound a game guy. That would allow the Cavs to trade or bring Anderson Varejao … Read more at FryingPanSports

Can the Cavs get LeBron James to come home?

LeBron

There are a number of questions that have to be answered before I can address the one everyone in Cleveland wants to know.

Where do the Cavs stand after the 2014 draft?

As I mentioned on Friday (The Cleveland Cavaliers have issues.), new head coach David Blatt problems that he must overcome before the Cavs can even think about trying to lure LeBron James back to Cleveland. There is no

way that UFA SF Luol Deng resigns. That leaves a hole the size of the Grand Canyon in the starting lineup. C Anderson Varejao can’t stay healthy and back up C Spencer Hawes is a UFA and likely to leave if he gets a decent offer.

If Blatt can solve the issues, the first overall pick Andrew Wiggins will help make the team a playoff contender. However, even in the weak Eastern conference the Cavs are a 5th or 6th seed. There is no way they can win a playoff series against the top teams.

Where might LeBron be interested in going?

In my opinion LeBron will not go anywhere except back to Miami or to Cleveland. Most of the teams that have 2 … Read more at FryingPanSports
