Josh Cribbs Joins Browns As An Intern Coach

While many Browns fans expected Josh Cribbs to play for Cleveland, it looks like he will instead be coaching the Browns. He’s joined his old team once again, having left the organization back in 2012. This time, though, he’ll be a special teams coaching intern working under Hue Jackson.

Jackson said that he wants to put Cribbs in a position where he can be successful and learn more about what it takes to coach players on a professional team. He was impressed with the way that Cribbs wants to strengthen the Browns organization. Having been a successful return man, it looks like Cribbs has plenty of personal experience that he can apply to his new career as a special teams coach.

Cribbs originally applied to be an assistant, but the job was already filled by veteran coach Sam Shade. Jackson didn’t want to let the three-time Pro Bowler slip through his fingers, though, and it looks like the new deal should benefit both of them as well as the team. Jackson warned Cribbs about how long the hours are when you work as a coach, however.
