Combo Guard George Washington III

Out of the Class of 2023 Combo Guard George Washington III has committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes. He became the first member of Chris Holtmann’s new college recruiting class. Washington attended High School at Christian Academy Of Louisville. His height and weight are 6’2″ 165 lbs. George Washington is best described as a two guard in a point guards body.

Washington has a player rating of 4 Stars, considered the 9th best combo guard in the country and the 2nd best player overall in Kentucky. He felt that OSU offered a system that he could fit into and they were in need of a player like himself.

Who’s recruiting him?

Washington had five offers including Ohio State, Auburn, Liberty, Louisville, and Tennessee. Coach Holtmann and (OSU assistant Ryan) Pedon were responsible for bringing this highly sought after talent to Columbus Ohio.

Ohio State has welcomed center Joey Brunk to its men’s basketball program just over a week after he announced that he would be transferring from Indiana. He is the second player to join the Buckeyes through the off-season transfer portal following former Penn State player Jamari Wheeler.

Joey Brunk, with a height of 6-feet 11-inches and weighing 225 pounds, began his college basketball career at Butler where he was a feature for three seasons. He also had a red-shirt year, in 2016-17, with now Buckeyes head coach Chris Holtmann, so is not a complete unknown. He transferred to Indiana before the 2019-20 season where he averaged 6.8 points and 6.2 rebounds for the Hoosiers in an average of 19 minutes play per game. It means that Brunk will be entering his sixth and last season of college basketball by playing with the first coach he ever signed with.
