Some teams reach for a player due to need. Those reaches end up costing the team in the long term. Tomorrow I will discuss the biggest reaches. Today we will discuss the greatest values found in the draft.  While it is way to early to judge team drafts, we can look at teams that got steals in individual picks.

Jets Trevor Reilly OLB Utah – Expected to be a late 2nd round pick but fell to the 7th round.

He could very well end up starting this season.

Vikings David Yankey OG Stanford – He was my top OG and was expected to go in the last 1st or early 2nd. He fell to pick 108 and was a steal.

Cowboys Ahmad Dixon SS Baylor – Dixon is a hard hitter with above average coverage skills. He was projected as a 4th round talent but the Boys got a deal taking him with the 248th pick in the 7th round.

Titans Zach Mettenberger QB LSU – Even injured and with a back issue, Zach was my 2nd overall QB due to talent and decision making. He was a steal at pick 178 and could be the starter soon.

Steelers Daniel McCullers DT Tennessee – He is a tough guy that should have been a 4th round pick had he not struggled with his weight. If he doesn’t Burger King himself out of the league he should be good.

Bucs Robert Herron WR Wyoming – Herron is a slot guy that has speed and quicks. He was expected to be a 3rd round pick that went at pick 185.

Steelers Jordan Zumwalt OLB UCLA – Zumwalt was more productive than Anthony Barr but not nearly as athletic. He was expected to be 4th round pick but fell to pick 196. He is a Steeler type of guy.

Steelers Martavis Bryant WR Clemson – Bryant is a big fast guy that could have been a late 1st or early 2nd round pick. He fell to the Steelers in the 3rd round pick 118.

That is what I think. Tell us what you think.
