Browns QB Practices Despite Injury
Josh McCown started the season as Robert Griffin III‘s backup. He ended up starting game 2 on the season but suffered a broken collarbone in the first half of the game versus the rival Baltimore Ravens. He ended up finishing the game but has not appeared in a game for Cleveland since.
This week, the veteran QB returned to practice. He has his eyes set on the goal of winning back the starting spot at quarterback for the Browns. The Browns are 0-5 on the season so far.
So far this season, 5 different players have appeared at the quarterback position for the Browns. The original starter, Griffin, was injured in game 1. Then McCown started game 2. Since then rookie Cody Kessler, wide receiver Terrelle Pryor, and career journeyman Charlie Whitehurst have all appeared at the position for the Browns. It is important to note that Pryor was drafted out of college by the Raiders to play quarterback after starring at the position in college at Ohio State.
Kessler was injured in week 5 against the New England Patriots. It was originally thought that he had broken bones in his check, but X-rays revealed that to be not true. The quarterback situation this year is a perfect representation of the Browns situation at the position since the team’s inception in 1999.Cleveland Browns Josh McCown Back In Practice by Steven R
