Cleveland Browns Training Camp

If you are looking to get a glance and the new roster of the Cleveland Browns for 2018, head over to their training facility in Berea Ohio July 26 for 15 open-to-the-public practices. The area has greatly improved over the past 12 years, adding new seating last year and this year to accommodate more fans.

And walk-ups will be allowed into the facility if there is room on any given day. When you register, you can request four tickets for three different days.

NFL TV Ratings; A Sign Of Things To Come?

Sunday for many people is a special day. Filled with family, friends, and possibly some yelling at the television. Football has been a large part of people’s Sunday traditions, but with things being the way they have been lately, many are wondering when the focus will return to actual football. It seems less has been made of the game, and more is being made about what President Trump has tweeted out about something or which players have decided to take a knee for the National Anthem.

Regardless of your personal feelings on these subjects it does come across as slightly foreboding when you couple that with the fact that across the whole board NFL’s TV ratings are down. Some might say that this is attributed to the ongoing spectacle sideshow that the NFL has turned into. Commissioner Goodell has not ended the stalemate with the player‘s union about proper procedure for pre-game policy, and continually rides the fence on the issue. This has further dragged on with President Trump now taking to the keyboard to weigh in his two cents worth.

The cold hard facts remain though that viewer ratings are down for every game except for the one o’clock slot. It might stand to reason that the games in that hour block did well because they were full of tough rivalry showdowns, or it could also mean that it is, generally speaking, a very boring time for television. Either way the games are getting less views, and you can be sure that trend will continue unless an agreement in procedure can be reached. Until then, we get to deal with a circus sideshow and the clowns in it.

Brock Osweiler Starts For The Browns

Brock Osweiler announced as Browns starter for the preseason opening match versus Saints

Brock Osweiler is set to start the preseason opening match on Thursday evening, versus the Saints at First Energy Stadium, according to Browns manager Hue Jackson.

The second man will be Cody Kessler, followed by Kevin Hogan and DeShone Kizer.

This does not mean though, that Osweiler will begin the season opening match versus the Steelers on September 10. Kizer could well end up doing that instead.

Jackson said that, at this point in the quarterback assessment process, he will have Osweiler start in the Thursday preseason opening match versus the Saints. While many factors are taken into account during the assessment, it is ultimately about running the offense effectively and efficiently, Jackson noted. Jackson went on to say that he wants his starters to have the ability to do this in all circumstances.

Osweiler has not really got any reps in the first team, so this will provide him with that opportunity. Everyone is looking forward to watching how he fairs in the limelight during the week and versus the Saints.

Speculation is rife that the Browns might be attempting to groom Osweiler for trading. However, on Monday, Adam Schefter from ESPN was interviewed on the Dan Patrick show. Schefter said that the Browns have declined trade offers and do not wish to get rid of the veteran.

Now that Osweiler has moved to number one, for this week at least, this does not look encouraging for Kessler, with regards to his quarterback ambitions this season.
