Jovan Belcher was a football linebacker and a part of the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL). Born and brought up in West Babylon in New York, Jovan Belcher was quite a popular and talented player. On 1st December 2012, he committed murder-suicide. After he killed his girlfriend, a twenty-two year old Kasandra Perkins, Belcher is reported to have driven to the training facility of the Chiefs where he killed himself by shooting himself in the head. There are many theories surrounding this murder-suicide, but the exact reason for his death remains unknown.
According to many reliable sources, Jovan Belcher was a very violent and emotional person. Back in the year 2006, Jovan is reported to have punched out a window in his university just because his girlfriend had made him upset. As a result of this, he sustained wrist lacerations and almost severed his thumb. Another theory for this unfortunate incident is that as a player of Chiefs, Jovan suffered from repeated head trauma, thus causing serious brain damage which made him commit murder-suicide as he might have been suffering from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, psychosis or depression.
Reports that Jovan Belcher spent the night with another woman, called Brittni Glass, is also doing the rounds. According to his neighbors, they spotted Belcher drunk and asleep in a car outside the apartment of Glass. This gives rise to another theory that Belcher might have used some kind of performance enhancing drugs like anabolic steroids which are known to bring about severe changes in behavior and emotions, like causing impulsivity, psychosis and irritability.
