Ohio State signed 2023 South Dakota Quarterback Lincoln Kienholz (6’1 180) to a National Letter of Intent on Wednesday. His skill-set would fit right in with the Buckeyes. Lincoln Kienholz is one of the state’s top recruits this cycle. He’s already signed with Ohio State and appears to be a team leader, but what could have been? The Buckeyes flipped him from Washington when they lost another top quarterback in the cycle. It is becoming a habit that OSU needs a quarterback late in the recruiting period.

Kienholz Could Have Gotten More at Washington
With every Ohio State signee, there seems to be a question whether or not the Buckeyes are maximizing its NIL potential in regard to recruiting. It’s no different with this cycle, perhaps more so given the rampant speculation over Alabama’s (and yes, other rivals’) use of satellite camps and other visits in the summer. Keinholz stated this past week that Washington had more NIL money for him than Ohio State had available.
Basketball or Football
The Buckeyes secured a signature from the fastest-rising quarterback in the country after flipping him earlier this month. For Lincoln Kienholz, there was no end to the size of the game. He was always a point guard or quarterback, seeing open windows and delivering passes to his teammates.
The Buckeyes and the Kienholz family appear to be happy this time around. The quarterback will bring a ton of needed size and athleticism to Ohio State’s offense and is considered a player that can have an impact from day one. Coach Ryan Day praised the new Ohio State QB for 2023 shortly after recruits signed for the year.
Ranking for the Pierre (S.D.) T.F. Riggs four-star Quarterback
As a youngster with a ranking in the 800s six months ago, Kienholz committed to Washington. Then he had a breakout senior season and skyrocketed up recruiting boards. He’s now listed as an ESPN 100 prospect, but how did he get here?
The Buckeyes have their quarterback for the class of 2023. Lincoln Kienholz, a four-star prospect for the class of 2023, officially committed soon after receiving his offer from the Buckeyes following his official trip to Columbus for the Michigan game on November 26. The Thursday after, he made his choice public on Twitter.
