Omari Abor plays for Duncanville Texas high school. The 6’4″, 240-pound defensive end is a 5-star recruit, the 18th best overall prospect, the 2nd best edge player in the country, and the 6th best overall prospect in Texas.

Alabama has Jay Valia and Freddie Roach recruiting Abor. LSU has Andre Careter in charge of recruiting him. While Ohio State defensive line coach Larry Johnson is recruiting him for the Buckeyes. Ohio State is hopeful the highly recruited prospect selects the Buckeyes as his destination to 2022.

Defensive End Omari Abor Visits

He visited Ohio State on June 4th, LSU on June 11th, and Alabama on June 25th. Ohio State offered him a scholarship in November 2020 and the visit went very well with him meeting with Ryan Day and Larry Johnson while in Columbus. The Buckeye’s ability to get edge players drafted in the first round is a factor for recruits at the position.

Has over 25 offers with Texas A&M, Texas, Ohio State, LSU and Alabama leading. Oklahoma at one time was considered a favorite has not made the final five schools.

Abor has college ready physic with a long frame. He has great pursuit and closing speed. Good hands and the ability to move lineman to the side. He helped Duncanville to a 13-1 record in 2020 and a 2019 state runner-up finish of 15-1.

Omari Abor Commits to Ohio State

Abor committed to Ohio State over the weekend at the All-American Bowl Half-time show. He expressed his desire to play for Larry Johnson and have flexibility on the field while going after the quarterback. He plans to visit Texas and Texas A&M before signing with the Buckeyes in February.
