Tiger Woods can't have it both ways.

Woods is without a doubt one of the greatest golfers ever. He is also one of the greatest pitch men ever. Now that the blush is off the rose and his manufactured image has taken more hits than a bucket of driving range balls, he wants his privacy. Fine, then drop every endorsement and prevent any more of your commercials to run. Make EA Sports take your name and face off their golf game. Otherwise, you have made yourself a public figure that has profited from your persona. Excuse the pun but he made his bed and now he has to take whatever results from that.

While what he did would qualify him for street cred in politics, it doesn’t buy him cornflakes from me and most other sports fans. I don’t want to hear him gripe about people following him around and taking his picture. By having his smiling face on TV 27 times a day selling everything from cars to tooth whitener (if he doesn’t he should) he has been well paid for whatever public humiliation he will now endure. He has earned both. He has enjoyed the first and will have to suffer the second without complaint.

Great golfers self report their violations of the rules. He would have been a lot better off had he done that about his sex life as well.

I personally could care less about Woods, his social life or his golf. I don’t care if he comes back or not. I just don’t want to hear one word about how “this is a private matter.” You made it a public matter by your own choice. Shut up and take it.

That’s what I think. Tell me what you think.
