Roger Goodell is lying again.

Goodell

First of all, the Commissioner of the NFL Roger Goodell doesn’t have the guts to answer questions in a real press conference. He had to hide behind the noise of the wind and others talking around him to answer questions about the Ray Rice suspension. What was he trying to hide? The answer is that the NFL does not care about women as fans or give a rats hind end for their safety.

Here is what he said and my comments on those responses.

Our policy is clear.

The NFL policy on abuse of women is anything but clear. In 2010 Ben Roethlisberger was accused of sexual battery in Georgia. Although it was the second accusation of sexual abuse against him no charges were filed in either case. Goodell suspended Roethlisberger for 6 games. Under appeal it was ultimately reduced to 4 games. Until now that was the standard. Now that standard has been reduced to a gentle tap on the back of the hand.

In this case not only did Rice admit guilt (it is hard to deny when there is video evidence of the crime) but he was sentenced. Admittedly the penalty of a diversionary program is not Read more at FryingPanSports

Roger Goodell’s NFL Wheel of Misfortune!

Wheel

Ryan Neiman of Sports District Radio is our guest on NNR tonight 6 PM EDT on or https://fryingpansports.com/radio-show/.

“Hi I am Roger Goodell and welcome to my NFL Wheel of Misfortune show! Johnny who is our first victim?”

“Well Roger, it is Arizona Cardinal linebacker Daryl Washington come on down! Daryl has been a bad boy that has been caught taking PED’s for a third time.”

“Well Daryl spin the NFL Wheel of Misfortune!”

“Too bad for you Daryl you get indefinite suspension. That is the worst penalty we give out. It means you have to sit out for 12 months from today and petition for reinstatement. Then Daryl, if I feel like it and you have been a very good boy I might let you back in the league. Of course I might not let you back in too if I am having a bad day. Daryl would you like to appeal the penalty and spin again?”

“Yes please.”

(Buzzer sounds)

“Too bad Daryl. I decided your appeal is denied and you get the indefinite suspension. All in all Daryl that will cost you at least 3 million dollars. Please take our home version of the game … Read more at FryingPanSports

Danny Kanell agreed with NFL on Rice suspension.

Rice

Monday Top questions in AFC North & South going into training camp 6 PM EDT onNNR or https://fryingpansports.com/radio-show/. Please join us.

The 4 letter network strikes again!  Danny Kanell appeared on Dari & Mel Saturday and agreed with Roger Goodell’s two game suspension of Ray Rice. Kanell commented that Goodell knows more than the rest of us about what exactly went on between Rice and his lady. I have no idea what Rice or his wife said to Goodell and frankly I do not care. No matter what she did, there is no action short of shooting him with a gun that justifies a male hitting a female period.

The other aspect of the Rice suspension that Kanell mentioned was that this was the first violation of any kind that Rice has committed. SO WHAT! In my opinion it is the severity of the violation and not the past record of the individual that should determine the length of the suspension.

Kanell said he has 3 daughters. That surprised me more than anything else. My wife and I have 3 daughters as well. I would never say that anything could ever justify a guy striking a woman.

Dave Pear, former Raider, announces IFV-TV.

This is a reprint of Dave Pear’s blog post of 4/18.  We thank him for appearing on NNR several times.  We also thank him for all the work he and others have done to help those that built the NFL to the 10 billion dollar a year business it has become.

View the conference live at .

First of all, we want to thank every one of our readers for their patience. The NFL is stupid to enforce the NCAA’s inconsistent suspensions

NFL Commissioner Goodell decided to enforce the 5  game suspension of former OSU QB Pryor in his league.  This not only sets a very dangerous precedent  it ties the credibility of the Commissioner, the league and his power to deal  with off field behavior of the players and coaches to that of the NCAA.  The issue is that the NCAA has done  everything it can to destroy whatever credibility it still had.

Pryor who sold a legal item that belonged to him for  a legitimate market value.  He got a 5 game suspension. Under the US Constitution not even the federal government can penalize someone for selling a legal product that belonged to them.  What gives the NCAA that power?  I have said several times that if one of the  players had been my son, I would have sued the NCAA for every dime it ever even  dreamed about seeing.

Then the same  power that gave Pryor and other Buckeye players a 5 game suspension faced
another issue.  University of Miami QB Jacoby  Harris and others got gifts of thousands of dollars from a convicted felon and  he got a 1 game suspension.  WHAT???????

What should the NFL do with Mikey Vick?

t

Michael Vick was released from prison today to spend the next couple of months of his sentence under house arrest. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is going to have to make a decision about QB Michael Vick’s return to the NFL before too long. The questions are how do you make the decision and what should that decision be.

How will the Commish make the decision: We are likely to hear a lot in the next few days about the difference between a right to play in the NFL vs. the privilege of playing in the league. Dictionary.com defines a right as that which is due to anyone by just claim, legal guarantees, moral principles, etc. It defines a privilege as a right, immunity, or benefit enjoyed only by a person beyond the advantages of most.

So, is playing in the NFL a right or a privilege? High school players earn college scholarships with a combination of their preparation, their play on the field and work in the classroom. Anyone that has ever tried to win a scholarship of any kind knows that it must be earned.

Every player in the NFL has worked his entire life to get to … Read more at FryingPanSports
