Emaree Winston’s Path to the Pros: A Closer Look at His Top Six Choices

Emaree Winston

As the 2025 college football season gains momentum, one name that is resonating through the ranks is Emaree Winston. In a pivotal move that has kept college football enthusiasts on the edge of their seats, Emaree Winston, the highly-touted 2025 four-star tight end out of Calhoun, Georgia, unveiled his top six picks for the recruiting process just a week ago.

Among these elite institutions, Ohio State, Tennessee, North Carolina, UCF, Colorado, and USC have emerged as the frontrunners vying for Winston’s talent. Winston’s affinity for Ohio State has been evident since he first set foot on their hallowed grounds during the summer of 2022. As a football analyst, Bill Kurelic took an early stand by Crystal Balling Winston to Ohio State, a prediction that continues to resonate strongly.

The University of Southern California (USC) also stands tall among Winston’s top contenders. USC, a powerhouse in college football, finds itself in esteemed company alongside UCF, Ohio State, Cincinnati, Tennessee, and North Carolina in the race for Winston’s commitment.

UCF and Cincinnati, two institutions on the rise, also made it to Winston’s list. Cincinnati, a late entry into the race, made a strategic move by extending an offer to … Read more at FryingPanSports

Buckeyes Stars Malaki Branham And Ej Liddell Shined Bright In Recent NBA Draft Pick

Malaki Branham

The Ohio State University must be proud of having two of their best players land a spot in the NBA Draft pick held last June 23, 2022. Buckeyes Malaki Branham and EJ Liddell prided their university when their names were called by the San Antonio Spurs and New Orleans Pelicans, respectively.

What Makes These Two Players Special To Be Selected In The NBA?

Malaki Branham and EJ Liddell

Both Malaki and EJ had great collegiate careers, with Malaki especially impressing scouts with his athleticism and shooting ability. OSU will no doubt miss having these two talented young players on their team, but they can take comfort in knowing they have helped to produce two more potential NBA stars.

MALAKI BRANHAM was drafted as the first round’s 20th pick by the San Antonio Spurs. The 6-foot-5-inch shooting guard averaged 13.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2 assists, per game in his junior year with the Buckeyes. Branham is a lethal scorer from all three levels.

This player is especially dangerous from beyond the arc. He’s a knock-down shooter with deep range. And he’s not afraid to pull up from anywhere on the court, even with a … Read more at FryingPanSports

My thoughts on this week in sports

Dorsey 1 Jackson 0

Jackson wanted AJ McCarren but was over ruled. Dorsey clearly has the ear of Browns ownership that allowed him to sign Tyrod Taylor over Jackson’s objections. That was a good move because Taylor helped the Bills get to the playoffs. The book on McCarren has mostly blank pages.

The Cavs have fallen and can’t get up.

Having lost 2 games to the Clippers then to the lowly Lakers, their chances of getting to the NBA finals don’t look good. That is hard for me to say because at one time I was a part owner of the Caves when they were a publicly held company.

The Buckeye’s basketball team got disted by the NCAA.

The “New Criteria” for ranking is supposed to devalue the last 10 games. That did not apply to the Bucks. The team stumbled badly late in the season and lost the 1st playoff game in the Big 10 Tourney. The NCAA gave them a 5th seed and a very bad matchup.

What should Cardale Jones do?

C Jones

Note: On NNR today David Kay joins me to talk about the Cavs and the NBA. The podcast should be up on https://fryingpansports.com/radio-show/ by 9 PM tonight.

Because Cardale Jones is a redshirt sophomore he has the option to declare for the NFL Draft. The other NFL Draft Nerds are complaining that Jones doesn’t have the experience to even consider coming out. They say he doesn’t read defenses, misses open receivers, and is in a very simple offense.  All of that is true. But it is what they don’t talk about that gives him the option.

All Jones did was take over for the three most pressure filled games that any college student could face. He led the heavy underdog Buckeyes to the Big 10 Championship with a most impressive win. Then he led the team to a win against the top ranked team in the nation. Again the Bucks were heavy underdogs and given no chance to win by the talking heads. He finished the season by beating the 2nd ranked Ducks to take the national championship.

When I evaluate a QB in the draft, I look for several things. First I want a QB that has the Read more at FryingPanSports
