Sacramento hoping for Ping Pong ball with Blake Griffin's name on it!

nbaDraft

The NBA Draft Lottery is being held tonight before the Laker Nugget game. The NBA has gone to the lottery because they can’t trust the teams to try to win rather than dumping the season to get the first draft choice. That says a lot about the teams.

At one time, the ping pong ball machine was run live on TV. But now the actual ping pong ball selection is held behind the scenes. That says a lot about the league.

Was it an accident that C Patrick Ewing went to the NY Knicks? How about the coincidence of Lebron James going to the Cavs? The chances of either one of these events happening is less than one of my novels being picked up by Tom Hanks to be made into a feature film. The likelyhood of these two events happening together is less than you winning a 500 million dollar lottery.

The league would like you to think that everything about the draft order is on the up and up. If it was, they would bring the machine out from behind the curtain and let us see the balls selection. The NBA has no intention of doing that.

So the league that brought us the referee owned by gamblers and the non-suspension suspension and visa versa for all stars over the last couple of years think we trust them to be honest about the ping pong ball deal? I don’t think that for a minute. Neither does anyone that reads this column regularly. You are smarter than that. But the majority of NBA fans don’t seem to have a problem with it. So as you watch the action or lack there of at tonight’s extravaganza, think fondly of me. And don’t let anything surprise you when the cards come out of order.

That’s what I think. Tell me what you think.
